• 1 tbsp. five-spice powder
• 1 tbsp. grated fresh ginger
• 2 tbsps. sake
• 2 tbsps. rice vinegar
• 2 tbsps. tamari
• 1/4 cup sesame oil
• 2 lbs. ahi tuna steaks, each about 1 inch thick
• 1 lb. wasabi peas, crushed
• 2 tbsps. light brown sugar

• Whisk sesame oil, tamari, rice vinegar, sake, ginger, and the five-spice powder together in a large bowl. Add the tuna steaks in and flip for coating; let marinate for 30 minutes.
• Mix brown sugar with crushed wasabi peas together. Strain tuna steaks; press into the pea mixture to coat. In a small saucepan, pour the marinade and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Lower heat to medium, and let simmer for 5-10 minutes till the sauce has thickened and reduced.
• During the time the sauce is cooking, in a skillet, sear the tuna over medium-high heat in a small amount of oil to desired doneness. Spoon sauce over tuna when serving.
